Hope you are all hearing of the expanded high school trade programs at MCCC. Go to their website to see all the programs for not just High Schoolers but adult education. Good things happening for our young adults right here in proximity to home. My 21 yr old is doing well as result of Precision Machining program there, but some of his friends wished they would have had some of the new construction & mechanical trade choices when they were in HS. A couple of them are taking trade programs there as an adult now. I think the school is still offering free tuition for young adults.

Big things are happening at MCCC!
🎉

At Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting, the Board proudly accepted a $3 Million Charitable Gift Agreement "check" presented by Robert Bux and Les Fuller of the Ken Cleveland Foundation. This generous gift will help fund the construction of a brand-new facility to house our HVAC and Construction Electricity programs!
The new building will be located next to the current Construction Trades building and will become part of the MCCC Ken Cleveland Construction Trades Academy — our exciting new Academy format designed to foster collaboration between all of MCCC’s construction programs and welcome even more students into these in-demand trades. (Be sure to check out the full story in today's Medina Gazette.)
We are incredibly thankful for the ongoing support of the Ken Cleveland Foundation, and we can't wait to see the impact this gift will have on our students and community.

What programs did your kids or family members complete at MCCC over the years? My son (Max Page) did the Precision Machining and it's too bad that program never seems to fill up. But I'm telling you being a machinist out of high school is pretty sweet. A good skill. He is working for the local Industrial Hydraulic Services on Lake Rd and he loves working with his hands on these projects and they are rewarding him well with raises and responsibilities because of his performance. I occasionally asked him if he regrets not going to college. Nope still no. My 19 yr old daughter (Evelyn Page) did the Chef and Restaurant at MCCC. Now she's doing the 2yr Assoc. Degree at LCCC in the Hospitality Mgmt/Culinary Arts program. She is so good with people, teamwork, and problem solving and she is building an expertise in a field that will never go away! she is making decent pay just starting out and only doing part-time serving or kitchen jobs so far. She's at Miss Molly's right now and making a surprisingly good income because of tips. Alot of the strong work ethic comes from family and the fact that they are healthy well-rounded adults, but MCCC was also instrumental in shaping my kids. Lots of great people working there. I continue to be impressed. Way to go MCCC!

MCCC is a wonderful facility and my son absolutely loved going there! It was a fight to get him to school everyday, but when he went to the Career Center, he was easier to get up and enjoying going. He barely had a 2.0 gpa at high school (which he could have done much better but just didn't care), his first quarter there he had a 3.75 gpa because he felt part of something. He was in the computer cyber security course. He loved it!
